I work on how the brain learns to predict its sensory inputs, with a particular focus on the roles of the cortex and the neuromodulatory systems in mice. For this, I use virtual reality systems, in vivo electrophysiology (with particular expertise in whole cell recordings in vivo), optogenetics, 2-photon calcium imaging, and behaviour. I am particularly interested in the themes of neuromodulation, plasticity, predictive processing, and sensorimotor integration.
